Mid-week treat.... Road-trip to Lindani

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to tag along to Lindani Lodges in the Waterberg with my good friend Fawn for a night. We took my oxygen concentrator with and they were awesome enough to accommodate us in a unit with electricity outlets (some lodges have solar power to run lights and a fridge but no electrical plug points).

The scenery was absolutely stunning, the accommodation really impressive, the food very yummy (home-style cooking at it's best), and saw Eland, Zebra, Kudu, Giraffe, Impala, Warthogs, Wildebeest... Didn't get any great animal pics due to phone battery dying, but got some nice pics of the veld and one or two selfies of course.

The altitude was 500m lower than Joburg, so breathing was a bit better with there being more oxygen in the air... Johannesburg is 1,753m (6,000 feet) high. Side Note: How ironic that the best possible lung care that I could get in the country (and most likely the continent for sure) is at such a high elevation!!!! It's like a sick joke :-)

Lindani is currently busy revamping their website, but check out and like their Facebook page! Especially if you love mountain biking or hiking, or have a family who loves the outdoors and want a brilliant break away from everything. Would definitely love to go back with my family some day.

The night away has made me even more excited for Easter ... going away with the family from next Friday to Wednesday the 29th.

We've had a LOT of rain in the past few days, unlike the rest of summer which was super dry. Wonder what the winter weather will hold??? It's definitely been an interesting year in many ways so far...

I'm American but I've always wanted to visit SA because it looks sooooo beautiful. Maybe someday. Great pictures.
